An explosion at a home in northeast Ohio has led to the tragic loss of a family of four. The bodies of a couple and their two daughters were found on the first floor of the Northfield Center Township home, approximately 20 miles south of downtown Cleveland.

Investigators from the fire marshal’s office are working together with the Summit County sheriff’s office and a local fire department to determine what caused the explosion. While the exact details of the explosion are still being kept under wraps by police, investigators now suspect arson. Initially believed to have been caused by a natural gas leak, Dominion Eat Ohio Gas has confirmed that there was no leak from its lines.

Neighbors called 911 at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday to report the blast. Arriving minute later, the fire chief reported that the home was fully engulfed in flames. Investigators have been combing through the wreckage for clues.

We at the Law Office of Daniel D. Horowitz, III PC extend our deepest sympathy to the friends and family of the victims during this difficult time.

Further developments on the case will be made available online via local news outlets. Read more on the story via KXXV and Cleveland.com.
