Describe a Construction Accident Case.
Video transcript: One of the earliest cases ever handled was a construction accident case here in the Houston Medical Center. My client was working for the general contractor and the subcontractor came along and had taken down the safety rails around an open elevator shaft. When they put them back up, they looked like they were secure but they actually weren’t secure. He leaned against one and fell into the elevator shaft. What really made that case interesting was the company that did it, denied it from the very beginning. We were able to prove again through statements that were taken early on as well as deposition testimony and expert testimony that they were the only ones who had ever touched those. That was one of the very first cases and we got a big-time jury verdict in that case of nearly four million dollars.
